HIHIHI. Kilig to the bones!

Anonymous asked: What kind of camera and lens do you use?

Hi! I use a Canon 550D usually with a 50mm f/1.4 or a 70-300mm f/4-5.6 or an 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6. (Everything Canon.)

It depends, really.

Anonymous asked: hi! i've been searching kasi for how long na, that kind of headband. where do you buy one? and suggest a good store that sells accesories/hair fashion like that. I saw your post, september 28, 2011! thank you!

Oh hi! This isn’t actually a headband.

It’s a scarf… worn as a headband!

Tada! Bought this at a local thrift/vintage store for around Php80. I guess you can find legit headbands of that style in Greenhills. Girlshoppe or Amanda’s Closet, perhaps? Otherwise, you could just use any scarf and wear it as a headband. ;)

Anonymous asked: I was watching your latest video that you posted. Super galing! I really idolize your talent. By the way, how do you know Gia Mendoza?? :O

Nuks. Hahaha! Thank you :)

Gia, on the other hand, is my blockmate! Hihi. How do you know her? :> :>

Anonymous asked: Lykaaa. :) help! Haha may party kasing pupuntahan mommy ko. 80's yung theme and she doesn't know what to wear. Hahaha! Any suggestions?

Ah, the 80s — back when everything was huge. The decade of shoulder pads, harem pants, excessive layering, outburst of colors and frizzy hair. Hahaha. Okay, let’s see.

First, power dressing. Be it on dresses or jackets, shoulder pads were a staple in the 80s (and until now, apparently. Thanks to its revival in 2009.)

Can be worn with a) pencil or bandage skirt, b) as a dress itself, c) with trousers or leggings, d) as a jacket over a dress. You can check Balmain’s 2009 Spring RTW collection for some high-fashion inspiration.

Second, layering. Think Madonna. Layer whatever item of clothing you can find. Hahaha. Nah, just kidding. 80s fashion is an explosion colors and textures, so your mom rather can go crazy on this. Wear leggings of whatever design/color, waist bands, leg warmers, fishnet gloves, colorful pumps, chunky accessories glitter and sequins to get the full effect.

Third, the harem pants, made famous by MC Hammer (hence the term MC Hammer pants). Worn with a loose or fitted top — with or without sleeves — and a pair of [usually black] heels.

Lastly, the teased hair and colorful/dark makeup. Get inspirations from Cyndi Lauper —  I bet she knows her — if she wants to achieve the full-on bright 80s look.

So here are some fashion/hair/make-up inspirations to remind your mom of the decade’s fashion, since I am very much certain she had lived through the 80s. If that’s not the case, well… *croo croo*
